Truth be told, I do enjoy a few non-canon pairings.

Now, this is not to justify all non-canon pairings, because some are horribly done, but some are truly entertaining. Sometimes I just like a little junk slash. Its especially fun when the writer is perfectly aware of its lack of canon and makes a joke of it. Or even better! When its cleverly put together and has a fair amount of logic to it.

Sure it's not canon, but to some people its just more fun!

I agree. I generally prefer cannon pairings, just because they tend to be my favourite pairing anyway, but there are definitely others out there that are good. I mean, that's kind of the whole point of fanfiction, isn't it? To write something the way you want it to be, even if it doesn't follow what's already been established?

There have even been times when I read a pairing that I didn't like but the story was just too good to pass up
